About Us
The WaterOne Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, incorporated by WaterOne to fulfill a water-focused vision in support of water education and water careers. WaterOne is an independent, non-profit public water utility serving the Johnson County area since 1957.
Mission & Vision
The WaterOne Foundation engages in charitable initiatives related to public drinking water, including the promotion and advancement of education, science, and community support. It’s our vision to foster a future where safe, reliable water is sustained through education, service, and community support.
Created in 2021 as an extension of WaterOne, the Foundation aims to be self-sustaining beyond ratepayer funding. It relies on the financial support of partners like you who share our vision for the future. The Foundation supports scholarships for STEM careers in the water sector, community engagement for water appreciation and education, and more. The ultimate fulfillment of the Foundation vision is to build a visitors center where people from across the metro and beyond can learn about protecting water sources, get hands-on with water treatment, and connect through water-themed meeting spaces and outdoors in demonstration gardens.
The Foundation is governed by an appointed Board. Members donate their time and resources to guide the Foundation, execute its vision, and cultivate financial partners who align with our mission to support the future of water in our community.
